Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension is used for:
Relieving sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes due to colds, flu, or hay fever. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension is an antihistamine and anticholinergic combination. It works by blocking a substance in the body that causes sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes. It also dries the nose and chest.
Do NOT use Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension if:
- you are allergic to any ingredient in Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension
- you are taking sodium oxybate (GHB) or a monamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (eg, phenelzine)
- you have severe heart blood vessel disease, severe high blood pressure, narrow-angle glaucoma, severe bleeding, severe irritation or other serious problems with the esophagus (eg, esophageal achalasia), peptic ulcer, a blockage of the stomach or bowel, bowel motility problems, severe bowel inflammation (eg, ulcerative colitis), or muscle problems (eg, myasthenia gravis)
- you have a blockage of the bladder, are unable to urinate, or are having an asthma attack

Before using Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension:
Some medical conditions may interact with Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:
- if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
- if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
- if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
- if you have a hernia, or a history of high blood pressure, diabetes, blood vessel problems, stroke, seizures, overactive thyroid, nerve problems, prostate gland problems, heart problems (eg, irregular heartbeat, congestive heart failure), sleep apnea, asthma, lung problems (eg, emphysema, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease [COPD]), or glaucoma, or you are at risk of developing glaucoma
- if you have trouble urinating or severe constipation
Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension. Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:
- Potassium products because they do not move properly through the intestines while you are taking Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension
- Anticholinergic medicines (eg, benztropine), barbiturates (eg, phenobarbital), phenothiazines (eg, thioridazine), or tricyclic antidepressants (eg, amitriptyline) because they may increase the risk of Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension's side effects
- MAOIs (eg, phenelzine) or sodium oxybate (GHB) because the risk of serious side effects, such as high blood pressure or severe drowsiness, may be increased
- Beta-blockers (eg, propranolol), digoxin, or hydantoins because the risk of their side effects may be increased by Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension

How to use Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension:
Use Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
- Take Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension by mouth with or without food.
- Shake well before each use.
- Use a measuring device marked for medicine dosing. Ask your pharmacist for help if you are unsure of how to measure your dose.
- Do not take an antacid or medicine for diarrhea within 1 hour before or 2 hours after you take Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension.
- If you miss a dose of Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension and you are using it regularly, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Important safety information:
- Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it.
- Check with your doctor before you drink alcohol or use medicines that may cause drowsiness (eg, sleep aids, muscle relaxers) while you are using Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension; it may add to their effects. Ask your pharmacist if you have questions about which medicines may cause drowsiness.
- Do not take more than the recommended dose or use for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor.
- If your symptoms do not get better within 7 days, if they get worse, or if they occur with a fever, check with your doctor.
- Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension may cause dry mouth. To relieve dry mouth, suck on sugarless hard candy or ice chips, chew sugarless gum, drink water, or use a saliva substitute.
- Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension may reduce sweating. Do not become overheated in hot weather or during exercise or during other activities; heatstroke may occur.
- Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension may cause you to become sunburned more easily. Avoid the sun, sunlamps, or tanning booths until you know how you react to Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension. Use a sunscreen or wear protective clothing if you must be outside for more than a short time.
- Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension may interfere with certain lab tests. Be sure your doctor and lab personnel know you are taking Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension.
- Use Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension with caution in the ELDERLY; they may be more sensitive to its effects.
- Caution is advised with using Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension in CHILDREN; they may be more sensitive to its effects, especially excitability.
- Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension should be used with extreme caution in CHILDREN younger than 6 years old; safety and effectiveness in these children have not been confirmed.
- PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: It is not known if Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension can cause harm to the fetus. If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension while you are pregnant. It is not known if Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension is found in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension.
Possible side effects of Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension:
All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome:
Blurred vision; change in appetite; constipation; dizziness; drowsiness; dry mouth; nausea; nervousness; stomach upset or pain; trouble sleeping.
Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); confusion; difficulty urinating; fainting or feeling faint; fast heartbeat; fever, chills, or persistent sore throat; flushing; hallucinations; seizures; severe clumsiness; severe or persistent nervousness, dizziness, or trouble sleeping; severe drowsiness; shortness of breath; unusual bruising or bleeding; unusual tiredness or weakness.

Symptoms may include difficulty breathing; fixed/large pupils; flushing; hot, dry skin; irregular heartbeat; loss of consciousness; mental or mood changes; ringing in the ears; seizures; severe drowsiness, dizziness, or headache; severe or persistent nausea or vomiting.
Proper storage of Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension:
Store at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). Brief storage at temperatures between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is permitted. Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Chlorpheniramine/Methscopolamine Suspension out of the reach of children and away from pets.
